All Canada Day
The University of Western Sydney and the Canadian High Commission will host an 'All Canada Day' on Thursday, March 14, 2002 at Parramatta campus from 10am to 4pm.
The main aim of All Canada Day is for UWS students and staff to learn more about study and research opportunities in Canada.
Staff, students and the general public are all invited to celebrate all things Canadian with UWS, says the Director of the Centre for Canadian Studies, Associate Professor Don Ross.
"We feel that All Canada Day will help to enrich our UWS community by highlighting the many links we have with our Canadian university partners and the opportunities they provide to UWS students and staff."
"The day will include student seminars with information for visiting Canadian
students, exchange programs and student services," Associate Professor Ross says.
"There will also be seminars for academics introducing research grants, teaching
grants and exchange programs."
"To get everyone together, there will be a barbecue with an Australian and Canadian flavour. There will also be an opportunity for people to meet the Canadian High Commissioner, His Excellency Mr. Jean T. Fornier."
An information booth will also be available with information provided
about all things Canadian, between the Library and the Student Union
Building from 10am to 3pm.
The event will be held at Parramatta campus, Victoria Road, Rydalmere, between the Library and Student Union Building. For a program or more information please contact Associate Professor Don Ross on 9852 4197.
