SGSM congratulates 274 graduates!

Date: 02/04/2002

Sydney Graduate School of Management (SGSM) will congratulate 274 new graduates of their programs at a ceremony to be held on 5th April 2002, including the flagship MBA program.

The SGSM Graduation Ceremony will be held at the University of Western Sydney, Parramatta Campus, followed by an Awards Luncheon at Lachlan's, Old Government House, Parramatta Park, Parramatta at which the School will present their awards for outstanding achievement.

The four Awards to be presented at the Luncheon comprise the Director's Award (donated by Take 2 Interactive), the Marketing Award (donated by Take 2 Interactive), the Economic Contexts for Managers Award (donated by the Chamber of Commerce) and the Human Resource Management Award (donated by Champion Pathfinder).

According to Professor David Lamond, Director of SGSM, the Graduation Ceremony and Awards Luncheon provide an opportunity to reinforce the message to graduates that they have achieved a significant success.

"Our students are the core reason for our existence and we celebrate their achievements," said Professor Lamond. "To have made it through one of our rigorous programs is a major accomplishment and we are extremely proud of our graduates both locally and internationally."

"Their relationship with the School doesn't end at the Graduation Ceremony though. We encourage our graduates to form a lifelong relationship with SGSM and we run regular Alumni programs and events to make sure that they are continually offered opportunities to grow with us. Our motto 'Everything Counts' really does form the basis of our relationship with our students and everything we do for them counts towards their continuing professional development".

SGSM is a wholly owned but separate entity of the University of Western Sydney. Operating out of the University's campuses and affiliates, SGSM offers programs in Parramatta, the Sydney CBD, Melbourne and Perth as well as China, Hong Kong, India, London, Malaysia, Singapore, Sri Lanka and Taiwan.

The School has grown from strength to strength over the past two years and now rivals the more established business schools in the region in terms of enrolment numbers and programs offered. It offers a full suite of management education programs, ranging from the Doctor of Business Administration to the Graduate Certificate in Business Administration.
