Find your career, find your future at UWS

Date: 02/08/2002

Prospective university students can kick-start their careers by visiting one of the University of Western Sydney's Open Days being held throughout August.

Students can obtain course advice, go on campus tours, view demonstrations and take part in the fun and challenging activities that have been organised for the day. An information session will also be held to specifically answer the questions of mature age students.

Professor Mick Wilson, Dean of the College of Science, Technology and Environment, will present a lecture at each Open Day on 'Future Careers'. UWS Vice-Chancellor, Professor Janice Reid, and UWS senior staff will also be available to talk to the public.

According to UWS Marketing Manager, Mr Angelo Kourtis, Open Day provides an excellent opportunity for students considering university study to explore their options and find out more about what UWS has to offer.

"It's nearing that time when students have to make those all-important decisions about undertaking university studies next year," says Mr Kourtis.

"This can often be a difficult decision for a student, whether they be high school leavers or mature age, and it's important for anyone in this position to get advice from as many sources as possible.

"Open Day gives prospective students a chance to talk face to face with staff who can provide valuable advice on the course that best suit their needs and ambitions."
