Federal Attorney-General gives public lecture
Federal Attorney-General, The Honourable Robert McClelland, will mark the University of Western Sydney's launch of its 2009 Year or Respect and Inclusion with a public lecture on Wednesday 4 March, 5.30pm, at the UWS Parramatta Campus.
Members of the public are invited to attend the lecture, which will see the Attorney-General discuss the Australian human rights protection system, and how it contributes to respect and inclusion in both broader national and tertiary education contexts.
The lecture will form the launch of the UWS 2009 Year of Respect and Inclusion - a celebration that reinforces the University's commitment to inclusiveness and equity of access for all.
The event also marks the continuation of the UWS Open Forum series, hosted by UWS Equity and Diversity.
Former Australian Human Rights Commissioner and Director of Equity and Diversity at UWS, Dr Sev Ozdowski, OAM, will be the MC for the evening.
The 2009 Open Forum sessions, which will run throughout the year, will cover topical and contemporary social issues and aim to bring academia and the Greater Western Sydney community together.
