Tanya Plibersek to give UWS public lecture: "Women in Australian Politics"

Minister for Housing and Minister for the Status of Women, The Honourable Tanya Plibersek MP, will be guest of honour at a public lecture tonight, Thursday 23 April, 5.30pm, at the UWS Parramatta Campus.

Media are invited to the lecture, titled "The Personal and the Political - Women in Australian Politics".

Also speaking are UWS Vice-Chancellor, Professor Janice Reid, and UWS Deputy Chancellor, Mary Foley.

The event marks the continuation of the UWS Open Forum series, hosted by UWS Equity and Diversity.

Former Australian Human Rights Commissioner and Director of Equity and Diversity at UWS, Dr Sev Ozdowski, will be the MC for the evening.

The 2009 Open Forum Seminars, which run throughout the year, cover topical and contemporary social issues and aim to bring the UWS academic and the Greater Sydney community together.
